I still can't believe they tried to call this a memory leak. They're obviously trying to downplay the severity of the bug by referring to it that way, but anyone who would know what a memory leak is would also know this isn't

The benefit of CDNs is increasingly questionable, but you can still realize them by managing it yourself. What I'm saying is to never use a third-party network that subverts your own security. I would try harder to nail that point in,

How is that a bug? Unless sleep was a typo or something. A bug isn't related to performance, a bug is just a mistake.

A thread about workplace sexual harassment is hardly an appropriate place to plug your company.

The last time I used WordPress (fortunately, very long ago) the most popular caching strategies were SuperCache (writes HTML files to the webroot) and Varnish (a caching reverse-proxy.) In both cases it's trivial to separate the stati

No, that's just because the example I used was Rust. In Ruby it would be `if user = User.find(..)` and the same goes for Go and plenty of other languages.

There's nothing wrong with using assignment in if conditions. For example, `if let Some(thing) = computation_that_may_fail { ... }`.

They are also opaque to the type system.

WebSocket first seems to be the wrong way to go about this. How about build your app to accept stdin and stdout, then expose this as TCP, HTTP or whatever else?

RDS also comes with its own set of tradeoffs. There is no free lunch, and the cloud is just another word for someone else's server. There are reasons Gitlab opposes that.

Are you talking about AWS Lambda, or some other Lambda that is convenient? I have never seen "AWS Lambda" and "convenient" in the same sentence. Even the people who like AWS Lambda say it's complicated.

Point taken in some cases, but a lot of those are misfeatures. The Lua API is not yet usable because they built a terminal emulator instead. If Vim had a terminal emulator, one would expect Neovim to remove that bloat. Not all Neovim add

Vim hasn't been on GitHub as long as Neovim. Check out the mailing list, Reddit, basically anywhere but HN or GitHub. Neovim is a drop in the bucket. And since Vim has taken all the best features from Neovim (in less time -- Neovim
