Front-end development is easier if (a) they are a designer (b) they know a designer. HTML, CSS and JavaScript are easy, but making a design is very hard.

I don't think a product that depends on reading my search history is ready for release. That's a serious invasion of one's privacy and something that will make lots of people (I would hope most) not consider installing it.

No, monetization is, like the rest of capitalism, intrinsically evil. As a counterpoint there are plenty (actually, significantly beyond the bounds of "plenty") of websites and tech companies that operate entirely without revenue

I'm very disappointed that monetization is, in Google's perspective, a fundamental part of the web. Don't be evil never existed.

Versioning schemes like semver don't work in practice because change is breaking by definition. I'm increasingly convinced that the only version people should use is "latest." Security patches are the only things that

No, (a) not all exit nodes and VPN IPs are effected (b) not all servers have that option enabled. I use Tor and am very frequently blocked from using reddit, imgur and other sites because of it.

Speaking strictly, you're right, but when you consider (a) Cloudflare's connection to your server is insecure (b) Cloudflare is listening in on every request (c) Cloudflare blocks VPN and Tor users, it doesn't seem like such

Please note that using Cloudflare, even with free SSL, is not an increase to the security and privacy of your users. On the contrary, Cloudflare records information about your users (this cannot be disabled) and, by default, blocks users w

I don't think that's related to the substance of my comment (so you should consider this independent) but Light Table and Atom are probably the most beginner-friendly. vim is actually very easy to learn if you don't need to

I wonder if those passages are enough to perform style analysis. reddit doesn't let us search comments, but we know they're a member of /r/Anarchism. These parts seem identifying to me: * Capital letters and proper pun

No, my problem is definitely with the language. JavaScript has some PHP-level horrors in it, especially when it comes to type coercion.

Sorry, I thought it was implied. Like an article about baby eating or something. If your argument is that you're a nihilist and don't value life (be it baby monkey or human) then that's something I can reason with, but if y

There are a great many VPS and server providers out there. I've had good experiences with gandi.net, Rackspace, moln.is and pgrmr. I've seen Ramnode and Lithium Hosting get a lot of praise. You could also use AWS if you don

If you'd used their servers for a bit longer, you'd have plenty of trouble. Linode is notorious for dreadful security practices. Their main ColdFusion app (yes, really) has been hacked on numerous occasions, including at least o

Fast JVM startup is possible with a preloader like Nailgun. A Leiningen daemon is very easy to create. lein-cljsbuild automatically generates ClojureScript so you can use any editor and refresh your browser. The JVM way of doing things is
