i find complaints against twitter to be somewhat alien because it is a fairly major source of good content for me. as an example, i just browsed my twitter for a minute or so on my phone and came across a discussion on programming languages

in my finite state machine framework that i built, this is what i do. a state machine is modeled by a class and the states are child classes. for state methods, which are defined by the parent class, i force them to be overridden. then if t

in general, i find the aggressive title changing on hacker news confusing. it’s been happening a lot recently where i can’t find a post by eye where i know i knew the title or where the title was changed away from the exact title of the

i have recently become interested in lua, especially the fun looking love framework [ https://love2d.org/ ]. but one thing i have had trouble understanding is what lua is particularly useful for and/or used for. can some

i have been looking and looking but can't find good streams or videos of people coding in a lisp (e.g., common lisp) or a smalltalk. this is really disappointing because i would love to see these (supposedly) more dynamic environments

i don’t think it’s a problem of abstraction itself. it’s a problem of poor abtraction. most APIs and things of this sort aren’t some beautifully crafted abstraction that even try to take care of things nicely for you. and efficiency of comp

i feel you are approaching this from a too human-centric point of view. who is to say animals care about what you want to communicate about? and who is to say that we don't fail to be able to understand what they wish to communicate

in my own personal experience, my primary source of linus news comes from articles being posted about him ranting or cursing about something. i didn’t post those. someone else did, and i read them. normally, i will follow these up with read
