Yeah I think one of the main things that React offers is a DSL for trees (JSX) that can lexically close over and also splice in JavaScript. Languages that allow creating your own DSLs offer this for other realms such as shader coding, logic

Not saying you can make hardcore things on it yet, but: https://github.com/exponent/floatyplane ;) Expo includes a `GLView` component that provides a WebGL-like API to OpenGL ES. Things like three.js run on it directly

Re: the C++ thing. Yup you can! That's actually how Expo's `GLView` (which exposes OpenGL ES as a WebGL'y API in React Native's JS context) works. The binding is done in common C++ code for both iOS and Android. Calling

You can also use ClojureScript on React Native for both iOS and Android. Lets you use things like reagent or re-frame that work well with persistent data structures. It's actually super easy with Expo, which makes it so you don't

Computation is what the compiler would get you to start, another aspect would be to tie that to display somehow. The clock here had to be visually displayed. So some sort of display driver situation is needed that is drivable from the compu

I think it could be neat if the spec of the s-exp was read from local hints rather than top-down prescription. You could show a color picker for color argument to a function etc. clojure.spec seems a cool tool.

In my experience yes, linear algebra, graph theory, a little topology, category theory are pretty good. If you do raymarching rendering of scalar distance fields, a new form of rendering I'm currently interested in, there are forms of

Using such words as "conquering X" can happen in euphoric moments where you make small progress. It can be taken as how you take things not literally in poetry. I would guess that if you were to ask the author, they wouldn't

Being mad at people like this is what makes them shy away from math. This works in any discipline. Let's be helpful and loving, I promise it feels nice, even though high horses are nice too. "Mindstorms" by Seymour Papert is

I think it may also be that initially, skeumorphism was used to educated the general public as to the intuitions of the UI, but after that intuition become more and more widespread generally, the UI could turn into a more abstract and minim

This is funny/meta because the idea of ownership (almost in a way reminiscent of weak vs. strong pointers haha), I feel, originates from some semblance of ego and associated 'territorialism' which RAW touches on in eg. Promet

You could try running ClojureScript over React Native. Nice thing about that is you use React paradigms for UI which IMO makes ClojureScript really shine, and you can use Figwheel etc. and it can be cross-platform.

Haven't gone past the first slide yet, but FWIW with ES6 you could do something like: [nikki ~]$ node > const bind = (fn, obj, ...args1) => (...args2) => fn.call(obj, ...args1, ...args2) undefined > bind(console.l
