Internet Explorer had a native Data Grid with two-way data binding and much more. https://schepp.dev/posts/today-the-trident-era-ends/#data-gr...

It was pretty cumbersome in Germany, too. Balcony solar is now considered the same as a satellite dish, which doesn't require special permission.

You basically plug them into your power outlet and feed back into the system, reducing your electricity bill.

There is the record and tuple proposal. If we'd have methods on records (currently not part of the spec) this would be trivial.

Passing Dates to a React component caused re-rendering issues in some of my applications due to Date being an object. I had to resort to numbers (Unix time) to not have to add memoization everywhere. Seems like this will continue with Tempo

I really like the temporal proposal, except for one thing: they rely on reference equality in comparisons. On other words: Temporal.Instant.from('2020-01-01') != Temporal.Instant.from('2020-01-01') This isnt inh

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to hide behind a flag once Node.js supports zopfli natively. In case of CI/CD, it's totally feasible to just add a --strong-compression flag. In that case, the user expects it to t

I thought about this the other day and came up with a theory that people _do_ care if the thing they are doing has their name associated with it for everyone to see (in theory). Edit: And sometimes, it's just the tragedy of the commons

How does this work with a service worker? I've only managed to do this via SharedWorker (which is not available on Chrome on Android).

What do I have to do to support H3 in my app? Is this like TLS, which is terminated by some reverse proxy and the application still just uses http 1? Or does it have to be in the application itself? IIRC H3 requires TLS, so it might be bett

I think it allows for too much. I was glad that JSON only supports double-quoted strings. It is a feature that removes discussions about which quotes to use. Or even whether to use quotes at all (we still need them for keys with colons or m

I played around with parsing and inferring SQL on a type level. Simple stuff works, but as soon as you have a DB-specific dialect, it becomes hard. Parsing is already hard enough, but type inference on a type level is just not maintainable

There is also git-agecrypt [1], which is the same but uses age instead of gpg. I've used both, they work pretty well. [1]: https://github.com/vlaci/git-agecrypt

Is it possible to generate an SQLite DB from the site data and statically serve it, so sql.js can use it as a DB to provide something like search?

Docker Swarm is exactly what tried to fill that niche. It's basically an extension to Docker Compose that adds clustering support and overlay networks.

An honorable mention is the string template literal type. It is between the string literal type (-unions); which allow a finite set of strings and the string type which, in theory, is an infinite set of strings. Template literal types can b

I avoid the use of `type=number` and use `type=text inputmode=numeric` instead. It doesn't come with these arrow buttons which most users don't need anyway for entering numbers. Also the keyboard is better on iOS.

Actually I don't want DOM access and GC for wasm. At least not yet. It overcomplicates a lot and I simply cannot imagine that a GC can be one-size-fits-all languages. I want fixed-size buffer-backed structs for JS. Basically a DataView

TypeScript was fairly new at that time and to learn it, I ported 2048 to TypeScript. It was fun! Fast forward a couple of years, I was debugging an issue with a react component and glanced over the .d.ts of react. I was quite surprised when

Also regarding the wording "Proposed API": This seems like it's just some kind of incubator for APIs before marking them as stable. So that copilot thing may just be their incubator project. It may be not though.

While I love SQLite, one has to admin that it has several quirks that we should not put into every browser. So probably some sqlite-esque API would be nice.

I use the pip functionality of Firefox for that. It works on every html video and ironically, you can make it full screen.

When reading the proposal title, I thought that this is for interop with WASM. Having fixed-size structs where every field has a wasm-related type would be beautiful for interop. Just a wasm function can just return or receive an instance o
