We also remember the claims teslas were going to pay themselves back as robotaxis, gigapress wasn't going to be producing 60+% scrap, tesla motors and controllers were special sauce that no other company could come near (lucid says hi)

I think concur depends on the implementation - at one job I had to fax in receipts and was painful, at another they had an email gateway configured where you just took a photo of the receipt and emailed it, and it did OCR and imported all t

Citrix ICA was very bandwidth efficient, it would run acceptably over a dialup modem link. Xwindows, not so much.

I've only ever used the control key with the side of my palm, so the bottom left isolated from the alt key a bit is perfect.

My original MX revolution is around 15 years old and the scroll wheel still works fine. I did have to solder in some new microswitches for the main buttons, but that's not unexpected for the amount of use its had.

by nikau 4y ago
Can you transfer the eSIM if the source device is broken?

A lot of phones do, eg most Samsungs since the S20 have physical and eSIM. There's also an interesting product from https://esim.me/ that emulates the functionality of an esim on a physical sim card, and lets you switc

This isn't either/or - you can have a nice preferences GUI and a sensible yaml or toml config file backend.

Because you can diff the configs after changes? You can check into git so you have a history of changes? So you can copy the config to another machine? There are lots of reasons why text files are the preferred format to store configuration

If its a problem you can disable updates. The alternative is no updates by default, and we saw what a mess that was back in the win 95/2000 era.
