Isn't M1 manufactured by TSMC? Are you saying TSMC has good pay and treats it's workers great? (it might I honestly don't know).

I only meant performance in context of the SQL execution, not the ORM. Agreed that is by far the most important. If one does use a query builder/ORM though it is also important to understand how that query builder/orm dsl maps t

That's too bad. In the area around where I live I have yet to encounter a suburb that doesn't have sidewalks! I understand what you meant by "walkability". I also don't think it's fun or practical. I tend to

That works for a narrow set of applications. If you do any kind of dynamic SQL it can get pretty gnarly though. I think it's extremely important to learn SQL first. But I don't think it hurts to learn an ORM or two along the way

Suburbs are very walkable. You don't always have to have a destination to walk to. My wife & I walk every night for an hour and enjoy observing our neighborhood.

If a recruiter denies you because you have .NET 6 on your resume instead of .NET 7 then that probably isn't a very lucrative job in the first place. You don't need a month of skill up to go from 6 to 7, maybe like 10 minutes. Per

Pretty sure they mean Nullable reference types which are much newer (although they have been around for a while at this point).

Yes the 5900/7900 but those have 12 cores. The higher end 5950/7950, which has a higher core count, actually perform slightly worse in games and are targeted towards a prosumer. Don't get me wrong, they still work amazingly

I don't know. Typically the 5950/7950 is not targeted towards gamers. It sacrifices single core performance for more cores. Usually it's more of a prosumer audience that actually do need those attributes.

Wow, is that in the U.S.? We pay $0.089 which is almost 10x less in the Midwest. Either way I'll pick up solar when Biden's inflation reduction handouts come along lol.

The average person is not buying a 7950 so I have no idea what you are getting at.

Have you used TikTok? I have and uninstalled it after a while. It feels like it takes all the bad elements of social media to the extreme. It's highly addictive, more so than other social networks, contains extremely shallow content

That's because the value of them churning out that software, however bad, so far has been greater than the alternative (none of it existing). I'd imagine this will hit a breaking point however (maybe it already is) due to hardwar

I wonder if that is specific to a country? Because in the U.S. I have never seen a marketplace seller on the best buy website.

Hmm we just got a new furnace and none of the installers offered high efficiency heat pumps. The ones available started to become inefficient at 20F above 0. It really wouldn’t of been practical to get this. Maybe some day. Unfortunately to

Then why are the places with the least restrictive drug laws arguably where the problem is the worst by a large margin? If these laws don't work at all. Not saying I fully support them or anything, I am just curious what your thought

The op was suggesting removing this infrastructure altogether so we could walk everywhere. I'm saying that is unrealistic because I like to go places I can't just walk to. Whether I walk to the grocery store or not isn't sup

I mean it seems obvious to me that if you have 100+ restaurants within a 20 min walk, all with near minimum wage workers that is a lot of less wealthy people having to commute in to give you that experience. That's great for you I gues

Right but that likely means grass finished? Because from what I understand most U.S. beef is grass fed and then finished at feed lots.

We don't really deforest in the U.S. for animals from what I understand. This takes place in places like South America. We could control imports/exports and I'd be all for that. As far as feed though, not all feed is grown

Ironically even in my suburb we have 3 grocery stores about a mile away each. But I only like going to the store once a week. Daily would be a waste of time.

I bike thousands of miles a year. I love it. I also don't want to bike to grocery stores and restaurants. Sweaty in the summer, and we get -30F in the winter and our city tends to be very windy with wind chills down to -60F.

That's a great fantasy you have there. The reality is that is not how the U.S. is built, nor will it be for a century or more. In fact the poor have to drive more because they can't afford to live close to work. Personally I w
