It's not that simple. Providers simply can't go back to the old days. They will push consumers to their limit, but I just don't think people are interested in paying $150/mo for scheduled programming with ads any more.

So bottom of the barrel compact style cars that you can buy new as ICE for like 12-15k with far more range. I know because my wife owns one, it gets 40mpg. Like I said, I'm excited for these new offerings. But acting like they are co

Well new EVs cost 40-60k. You can get an extremely nice new ICE for significantly less than that. So poor is probably being used relatively. Telling people who aren't rich to just walk to work is a joke right? Electric cars will come

Yeah but look at how large the market is, and how much it has grown since then. I'd imagine it's at least 10x the size and it costs virtually nothing to sell to all those additional customers. That's the real reason video g

Sorry I misread your comment. Either way I don't think either extreme viewpoint is right. I'd say publicly traded companies and their investors care about both growth and profits for different reasons.

This is false. Amazon had zero profits for a very long time and was publicly traded. It did very well. There are numerous examples like this.

Retail investors and hedge funds do not always demand short-term results. If that was the case, Tesla and growth companies like it would simply not exist on the stock market. Instead, they are wildly popular.

This is a huge concern to me. Not sesame street, but that only popular content is being retained on these services. It feels like the opposite of what a digital library should accomplish. We are losing niche content which is arguably the

I don't think that was the point. The point was that you can't have security without energy expenditure.

Does anyone have any good links/podcasts/books on content that explores what is AGI and how to define it? Probably the best stuff I've listened to so far are Fridman podcasts with guests like Jeff Hawkins or Joscha Boch. Bu

I don't really use TDD, but I've never heard that TDD would help guide the implementation. I always understood it was about designing a clean interface to the code under test. This being a result from the fact that you are desig

I agree but was just pointing out one method through which this could be turned against filers. If the standard deduction was greatly reduced it could cause taxpayers to pay more tax than they needed. Personally I hate the fact we have so

Well the U.S. tax system is heavily dependent on deductions which the IRS often does not have information on. So I'd imagine a lot of people would go with the default when in reality they might be able to save money. That said, Trumps

Yes if you stop paying you need to downgrade to the version at the time of payment, probably from a year ago. It can make a big difference if the ecosystem is changing. For example, in .NET if you are using a newer version of .NET at that

A lot of those things are based on life circumstances. If you have a large family in a major metropolitan area making the median income then yeah you might be worse off. If you are a tech worker in a small city or town then it can be quite

I think that would be a tough argument to make (in regards to image generation). The same could be said of just about any computing technology. The problem is we lose out on a lot of potential good. Either way it doesn't matter, you
