No, I mean gaming as in not a nickel and dime fest. To be clear, I don't mind spending a lot of money on games. What I am saying is that this fundamentally changes the design and core loop of these games. Instead of making it fun, th

Every time I play a mobile game I regret it. They are just built differently and a terrible substitute for anyone actually interested in gaming.

Google's search results are pretty terrible. I actually have a hard time telling which is a result and which is an ad anymore tbh. I really don't think the bar is that high.

FYI the Army does fly aircraft, and have pilots. We had rivalry with the Army ROTC during my time in Air Force ROTC.

I’m a bit of a beginner but if I had to guess I’d say it’s due to how the attention mechanism is designed.

It absolutely can generate new data, it does so all the time. If you are claiming otherwise I think we need a more formal definition of what you mean by new data. Are you suggesting because it can't predict the future it can't ge

It's a terrible analogy because the entire point of ML systems is to generalize well to new data, not to reproduce the original data as accurate as possible with a space/time tradeoff.

They are natural to you maybe with hindsight? Powered flight was most definitely not considered natural at the time. In fact, most attempts at flight were trying to mimic birds at first.

I don't know what you want, you might be happy with MSDOS for all I know. But Windows 11 has support for the 6ghz spectrum for WiFi 6(e) and WSLg support for doing ML/Cuda in WSL. Those are both of high interest to me. Otherwis

Does better tech matter that much if you can't execute? Microsoft has always gone with good enough instead of striving for perfection. It's taken them pretty far.

The exact same logic is applied to USD all the time. You know, if you just skip the Starbucks you'll have hundreds of thousands!

There are lots of examples of CEOs making decisions for the future health of the company that are rewarded by Wall Street. The trope that investors only care about the current quarter profits is just bs. In fact in my experience future gr

Video games have optimized rendering pipelines and assets. Discord is showing emojis, images that are 10MB+ each, and all kinds of user generated crap at high res that it doesn't have control over. Personally I'd prefer to go bac

Not everyone ships software that is used by customers. In fact I'd imagine most software is not customer facing. It's all about context and in some cases a bug getting through really isn't a huge deal. Some times users wou

High rises are, but not very many people desire to live in a high rise. Hence the inefficiency. I mean if everyone lived in a 5x5 box it would be super efficient. But yeah, I think people would rather die first. I'm also curious if y
