Actually I am very frustrated by the advantages it does have, because I want to stay on 10 badly. But there are two nice ones - - WiFi 6(e) 6Ghz band support is only in Win 11 - Direct GPU access from WSL2 for things like CUDA/ML prog

Personally I never see these ads on Windows even though I think they sound terrible. I must just have the right group policy settings or something.

It's also false. There are plenty of companies that pay dividends and do not experience continuous growth.

They exist. If I was going that route I'd probably get a Flair 58. But I love a steam wand.

Yeah but institutional investors were just starting to hold much larger positions within the last few years. They are much more sensitive to interest rate hikes than individuals.

I know Google just discovered this AI thing like a few days ago and haven't had the chance to get a product through legal. It's ok, they can take another decade. No biggie.

I'd argue price/performance is where they are the weakest. Especially when you want more than the bare minimum ram or ssd. An Apple replacement for my current notebook would cost over $5k and I spent a fraction of that. Battery

I don't need to define optimize because it will be different from each person. It's up to each individual to decide what is optimal for them. Nor did I say one had to optimize. I just said it makes sense if someone chooses to do

With your career you are trading time for money. It makes complete sense to optimize that. Most of the professional work you do will not be what you would work on in your free time anyways, it’s work to make some other person rich.

Keep in mind SVB was not the only bank. 3 banks went under (at least so far).

There are people who have lived past 90 who have smoked. Anecdotes like this do not work.

SVB was not the only bank involved and was at a $25B deficit (from the latest I have heard) due to the fact it was having to sell those bonds at a loss to try and provide liquidity to depositors. Also, that completely ignores the time valu

"Cost the taxpayers nothing" - well not in "taxes", but I'm not sure we can really say nothing. Clearly the banks paying for it won't just eat that cost.

This is cool, but we just bought a very nice high end gas furnace and electric AC which was about $8k installed in total. I'd love a heat pump, but $22k even after federal rebates? That's kind of crazy.

Having to maintain older versions because you pulled out a function is much more burdensome than just keeping it in. I prefer the lodash way of doing things, you don't. So don't use it, that is fine.

Natural sweeteners? Stevia is a plant. Erithrytol is produced by your body. How exactly would you classify something as natural if not that?

They'd be able to, but they won't. I disagree. Keeping it in accommodates everyone (not just your needs). You are not forced to use it, or even bundle it. I use lodash-es w/ tree shaking as it is.

With the amount of housing turnover in the past few years, to me it seems that plenty of people can afford to buy. Actually an unfortunate amount.

Are houses today the same as houses in 1989? Seems like you'd need a much more detailed analysis than median price to compare apples to apples.

Many growth stocks are/were down on the order of 40%. Nvidia dropped from 315 down to 112. Microsoft went from 340 to 221. Just two examples. I'm not saying ARK is good by any means, personally I'm not a fan of Cathie Wood

What's the advantage of OpenCL if it still only works good on Nvidia? Because it has "Open" in the name? You are acting like it was Nvidia holding OpenCL back, but I'm not convinced that was the case.
