The key segment that tends to soak up extra cash is housing/rent, and I'm not sure you'd see the economy of scale theory play out there. If anything I could see this just far increasing the wealth disparity. But I'd lo

Who said they don't? Who says those stocks wouldn't have performed considerably worse without good management? That's what I am getting at. Just because a stock goes down does not imply bad management or vice versa. But ag

I feel like that entire study is flawed because you can't just compare stock performances straight up. You have to look at how the same stock would of performed with a different manager. There are many factors outside of management

Not sure why that would matter. The team is still there. Everyone moves on at some point in their career.

Right but cease and desist usually relates to intellectual property or copyright matters, typically not TOS violations. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

I think the point was you are looking at technology purely through the lens of processor speed. But technology incorporates a lot of elements of the design, not just raw speed. While processor speed may have withered, there were other inno

The discourse has made it seem that with context length larger is always better. I'm wondering if there is any degradation in quality of results when the context is scaled this large. Does it scale without loss of performance? Or is

Bias is what makes models useful. If you remove all bias, you remove all information in the model and the result is a uniform distribution or pure randomness.

You are implying a causal relationship where I was not. My point wasn't that socialized health care would be bad or that we shouldn't adopt it in the U.S. (I support the idea). Just that for many Americans working in tech (who do

I have a hard time getting excited about anything AI with a company whose main profit center is in harvesting your data. Incentives are just not aligned. In this case AI is simply a gimmick to get us to give them more data to serve their r

Yes, I am not exaggerating. The Framework came to around $1.8k and the Macbook Pro came to ~ $3.9k. The only compromise with the Framework is that it is a 13" screen and the Macbook pro is a 14". But that's because Apple o

Maybe this is a regional thing, especially in SV driven by the VC hype. In general I find America very focused on small business rather than startups. Our economy is really built on small business and the more we forget that the worse thi

No one is pretending anything. It's still an extra step that adds transparency even if it is not a huge barrier. But in reality, that is a lot larger barrier than just direct access 24/7.

1080p vs 4k is a huge difference, that's pretty amusing. Also what about someone with an ultra-wide monitor such as myself at 1440p? Overall it's just terrible, and good riddance it failed.
