Hard to take a design article seriously when the gray-on-black text is so hard to read.

I'm interested in knowing how they came to these conclusion? Focus groups? User testing? They mention Google Analytics but that won't tell you that users are overwhelmed by the amount of text on your page.

Complaining about bitcoin articles on HN is like complaining about Ron Paul articles on Digg.

They aren't competing with their customers - you cannot book a flight on the site. You have to take the booking information ITA provides and call the airline yourself.

A lot of people. "Bruce Almighty" used a real number and it caused a lot of hassle for the owner. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/05/27/entertainment/main...

Don't think they'll find anyone willing to contribute design effort. No graphic designer would want to add this page to their Design Portfolio.

Whether or not this experience works for everyone, I have found that Apple laptops/desktops hold their value much longer than their PC counterparts. I'm not sure if its because Apple tends to spec their machines more on the mid to high-end

Well written. There are so many little things that serial entrepreneurs have learned that each successive company moves faster. The point about first-time entrepreneurs having trouble with the company side is true, and groups like YC are ge

There are lots of areas that non-programmers can flesh out, especially for a startup. Be honest with yourself - just because "you should do everything" doesn't mean that you are great at everything. While you're focusing on what you are gre

Grad school can be like that, moreso if others outside of grad school appear to be moving faster. I'm near the end of my program and I know I've spent most of those 3 years battling my decision whenever I get inspired by someone else's work

I like it! Tried it on a couple non mainstream sites and it parsed everything pretty well. I think I would use it more on my phone or iPad than a desktop, cool that it works on mobile devices.

I think part of this problem is that Stack Overflow will make users wait 2 minutes before voting an answer as correct, so they go the easiest route and leave a comment thanking the correct author instead.

I agree with the above. Keep in mind that a lot of what you take for granted in a native app you'll have to build yourself. Scroll inertia, image carousels, determining a "flick" vs a tap, fixed tab bar - these are all something that haven'

There is quite a demand for a lightweight Phonegap app that calls on remote pages, but frameworks like JQTouch don't handle remote injection of pages (breaks navigation, tapping, etc). I hope to see JQM support this without a lot of fiddling

Cool idea, but the potato keeps going to people who are dropping it rather than to new people. If they drop it more than a couple times then they should be pushed down the queue.

Is anybody else concerned about what a rogue app could do to your car? The SDK supports mostly read-only operations so that is better, but I'd be concerned if something like repeated status polling would impact my car while driving....
