I was fully expecting him to be arrested by a third world dictatorship somewhere but, no it's my home country, France. I'm ashamed of my country. Most of the traffic on Telegram is not even encrypted... EDIT: Yes, reading more abo

One of the schools near us gives an ipad to every children from 1st grqde. Needless to say this instantly disqualified the school in my mind. I’m not anti-screen, I think it’s good if my son uses a computer at home with things like kidpix,

Same here, in the last 2 years, my eyesight has gone down a lot (combination of astigmatism and presbyopia is not great). I used to love the growl style notifications from macos, now I always miss them (and often miss the alert that I only

First, please show me where exactly in the user agreement having two different accounts in different countries is a violation. I've looked and I can't find it. Don't go inventing violations of user agreements... Second, what

That's funny, I actually hate Apple's subscriptions because they are a pain to cancel. My wife has an iphone, she travels regularly to different countries for work. Because apps on apple store regularly have country restrictions (

It's heartwarming to see this from your daughter. Never doubt that you're a better parent alive living your truth and that your daughter is grateful for you being there for her. Best of luck for continuing your transition.

I don't think you've been banned. There's some mechanism to rate limit replies in HN to prevent flamewars so maybe that's what you're seeing?

I've always wondered about that. I'm also bothered when walking around Tokyo (it's very prevalent in Ginza for some reason). I've also seen it in other cities in Japan but I've never had that issue in other cities i
