The CPU is commodity, nothing else is. Costume Mainboard and firmware without BIOS and their own BMCish thing and their own Root of Trust. Same for their router. Standard chip, everything else is costume.

There is still a huge amount of stuff not using GPU and never will. Claiming that's only for 2020 is pure nonsense. They are likely looking at future racks with GPU as well, but as a first product getting the basics right makes more se

If you don't like Musk, just ignore him, pick the next person in the hierarchy and assign the success to that person. SpaceX was successful before Shotwell was president. Shotwell is great, but so are lots of other people that work for

People are giving a lot of reasons. But what one should really pay attention to is batteries. GM has had a catastrophic time with their battery factory. Their Ultium factory has been far, far worse then they claimed a few years ago. I belie

I think costumers have a few issus. First of all, one of the biggest reason consumer companies want RISC-V is because they can select between multiple vendors. Qualcomm would very likely be the only high performance implementation of their

Seems to me this statement goes way, way to far. RISC-V has already been deployed widely, including 64-bit. Various medium performance cores are out there being used or are being interceded soon. There are also various companies making high

If this is such a big problem, why have the other RISC-V high performnace people never made this into a big issue? This really just seems to be Qualcomm wanting it to be more like ARM so they can use their existing cores. That seem pretty c

People often asked this but there are a few misconceptions. OpenPOWER was not really 'open' in a meaningful way. It was only RISC-V that made OpenPOWER actually push towards more openness but by then it was to late. OpenSPARC is r
