Nice article! Back in the day I wrote 10s of thousands of lines of Z80 assembler - it was my first actual paid job after university. You got to know each register - they have their own character - need a loop - well you need B and DJNZ, nee

I'd argue that all security is security by obscurity, it is just a question of how many attacker-seconds it takes to break. Obscurity means keeping something private that if the attacker knew they could access your service. Traditional

What I'd really like is a multiprocess safe embeddable database written in pure Go. So a database which is safe to read and write from separate processes. Unfortunately I don't think this one is multiprocess safe.

If you need a min-max heap (or double ended heap) in Go here is one I've used: https://github.com/aalpar/deheap Very useful when you need it!

Keep that stuff away from my filesystem is my first thought on the matter! Having had a fair amount of experience dealing with case sensitive, case insensitive and HFS+ (argh!) file systems in rclone, all I can say is that it is really hard

I moved from KeepPassX to XC recently. It has the same features but the user interface is so much better. The android app is great too. I use rclone to sync my keepass file to Google Drive which means it is always up to date on my phone too

This isn't wildly impressive. Looking at the wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_version_history you can see a new Android is released every year around August. So what Samsung seem to be saying i

The problem with wikis in organizations is that they are a bit too unstructured. When a company is small they are great, but they accumulate cruft, the people who wrote the pages leave, they get disorganized, no one knows where to put pages

Thanks for explaining this! I have that domain blocked at the firewall so all I see is guce.advertising.com refused to connect. I wondered what it was about and how a techcrunch link could go straight to guce.advertising.com

I had a lot of problems with this in rclone. Rclone has backends which connect to cloud providers. These all implement a common interface. So far so good. However some cloud providers can implement optional features, say a server side copy

I use LibreOffice because it runs on my machine - MS Office doesn't. If MS made a Linux version I'd probably get that. LibreOffice is at its best if you make the docs and edit them just in LibreOffice. It's great at making st
