I have implemented this algorithm twice, once in ARM assembly and once in C. In some ways the assembly implementation was easier as you aren't forever fighting with the compiler to get it to generate the correct instructions. The 32 X

That was fun! Not that anyone cares for FizzBuzz but I'll just note that n**4%15 is more efficiently written using the 3 argument pow function in python, eg pow(n, 4, 15). >>> timeit("(1<<100000000)**4%15"

It is a cast off relay keyboard - easy to wire up to the ZX81. I don't recall where it came from, but I don't think it ever had a 1 key as was common on typewriters back then (you just used l instead).

I just posted a pic of my highly modified ZX81 here https://mobile.twitter.com/njcw/status/1368566103933337603 In honour of the #zx81 40th bday I got mine out the attic. I modified it heavily to have external keyb

I'm not sure everyone will ever agree on this. I was amused to discover a few years ago when I had to order an E1 network connection at 2 Mbit/s that it was actually 2048000 bit/s, perhaps what you might call a 2 kikbit/

The sad thing is that the team responsible for this bit of machine learning are probably very proud of their 99% accurate algorithm. It probably *is* 99% accurate - there is a lot of fraudulent activity online. That 1% false positive rate r

How about pay $1 / year to opt out of all data sharing? I foolishly installed the Facebook app on Android for a while. When I asked for a data dump from Facebook I was amazed at the amount of data it had stolen from my phone, including

You can build a O(n log n) multiplication with FFT based convolutions. The trick is to only put as many bits into each number as are guaranteed not to overflow. So if the convolution is n long and you put B bits in to each "digit&q

I remember those chips as they were the ones in the ZX81 16K RAM Pack. 8 of the little beauties. The RAM Pack itself was a nightmare. If it wobbled the computer would crash. I held mine on with blu-tack - lots of it. Every now and again I&#

I can tell you from personal experience that r720xd are VERY LOUD and use a huge amount of power 200-300W! If that isn't a problem then go for it, they last forever in my experience.
