Same here. I recently came across a real use for the newer `private protected` (`FamANDAssembly`) modifier combo. Only derived types that are internal to my assembly can access this member. Beautiful. It re-confirmed my long standing belief

It's unclear if the author understands false sharing. The excessive "ping-pong"ing of cache lines between cores means the cache line that the counter sits on is shared with other memory that's being accessed in content

Do you think the people who are setting fire to Teslas are the same people trading Tesla stock? Even remotely close to the same kind of people?

Same. I'm not sure what to make of the various claims. I personally defer to this table in general: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/power_performance.html . I'm not sure how those benchmarks translate to common real w

I've been using AdGuard Pro happily on all my devices for about ten years now. I'm wondering what adding Ghostery to the mix does on Safari?

Of course, but using one delimiter/convention for more than one things makes it hard/impossible to disambiguate them. With foo_bar_baz, you can't easily tell what's what. `"FooBar_Baz"` or maybe `foo_bar__baz`

Realistically, West Bank will be gone (totally settled, all Palestinians removed) in 15 years. Gaza will further be ghettoized and, pessimistically, will be basically gone in 50 years or so.

Oh please. Israelis could have voted in a different party/leader that would have taken another path. West Bank settlement expansions could have been halted and reversed (to a sensible degree of course). These are bread and butter sugge

For literally multiple years I tried to convince a colleague of mine to try Rider. They're a diehard CLI and VS Code user. I made a video showing my workflow and how quickly I can navigate around and do refactors. Next day they were sa
