Potentially, yes. But, only if by being infected, it would mean you were now immune, which isn't the case with covid-19. Reinfections have happened.

Almost all of marketing statistics/metrics are correlation, not causation. They are mostly just looking at stats over time, trying only one new thing per quarter. No way to know for sure if the new channel was actually the reason for s

Maybe python poetry? And pep 518. Rust designed cargo after pip and python setup.py and made it better. Then pep 518 was inspired by cargo, and now pyproject.toml works pretty much the same way.

I disagree. If a lot of people know about the bug, and actually take time to reach out and tell you, it must be more severe than you thought. People these days are used to bugs. And bugs that arent as severe often go completely unreported;

Thats because we have tried it the other way. Its called waterfall. The problem is, the process is too slow in such a fast moving industry. If you are building a bridge, you dont have the problem of being half way done and all your custome

I find that I am a 10x developer when I compare myself to other versions of myself. I have had days where I honestly feel bad because I got almost nothing done, and other days where I get a ton done. If I was able to correctly channel my f

Can we move on? Interviews suck in every industry. "Sell me this pen" isn't relevant to what a saleman will be doing. He will be on the phone, following a script but its so standard. It could be worse. In the medical industry

Then its working. Big companies love it when people spend time studying for their interview process. It shows commitment and means that person will feel like they "earned" that job, and should stay longer. This reduces churn, w

Oddly, I had a slightly opposite reaction to a similar experience. But, to be fair, it was mostly because of red tape. I interviewed at Microsoft, got feedback something like, "you did pretty good, but you dont understand low level cod

Sounds like a lot of people in this thread are confusing metrics with measures. A metric is just that. Its just a number. It means nothing except giving you historical context over time. A measure is when you expect a specific quota or com

Your comment is spot on. But the opposite can also be true. I totally have the same issues you do at times by trying to understand types (which I feel type hinting, editors, and good variables names go a long way to help with). But I also f

While you are very likely correct, your perception could also be biased. If the father took time, you wouldn't know about it. So from your point of view, it was always her, but it could have also been only half the time.

If you are having them bash a shell script, that shell script could install a python package as well. If your users like the bash install, I dont think rewriting in go was required for that. I guess I dont understand why this is any easier.

Cloud computing is cheaper, not because its actually cheaper, but because of elasticity. If you dont need elasticity, then yes, colo will always be cheaper. If you are in the cloud you should be autoscaling, as that is the main premise of w

This is true of anything, not just k8s. There is always a possibility of all system monitors to be green but the apps dead/bad for some reason. This is why you need more than system monitors. You need app monitoring as well.
