You should read George Orwell's piece "What is Fascism?" [1]. It's a short essay worth the read before you're tempted to point the finger and call someone or something fascist. [1] http://orwell.ru/

One of the assignments I enjoyed the most was the "bomb lab". The bomb is a C program (w/ some Assembly required) that you have to defuse at certain phases in order for it to run to completion. It felt like a game more than a

Maybe I'm being myopic as far as the definition of firmware. I've never heard of a firmware update for a car, but if it's not happening already, it'll probably be part of the regularly scheduled maintenance in the future

I think the downvoters are missing my point. By definition, firmware is read-only software, so I was asking sure what (potentially modifiable) software the EFF is referring to.

I don't think we need to worry about STEM being over-pushed. STEM degrees are self filtering. Math, engineering, and science are hard, and getting kids interested at science at a young age can motivate them only so far. Many will enrol

I've seen two variants of parallax - parallax scrolling (which is fine) and parallax videos that play behind text. When you're trying to read text, having a moving image behind the text makes it harder to read. It looks cool, but
