I hate that mantra. Personally, I got into this because it's the only way I know how to live. I'm not happy unless I'm building, it just so happens that makes me an entrepreneur.

Thanks for the reminder. It's easy to get jaded about this stuff, but you're right. Good luck on demo day everyone.

Perhaps nothing, but there's always room for another. It's execution that matters, right? I've tried Kicksend and dig it. Though my problem at the moment is determining whether to use Dropbox, Cloud, or Kicksend. I used to send music with i

Having this problem, and I've been told a USB display adapter is the solution, which disappoints me.

OK, so maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but my original point remains - the investors have to share some of the blame here.

Look at the entire comment chain. Many of the comments don't even address the post itself, but their personal feelings of Groupon.

Nothing wrong with talking about it, but reading the comments it seems like everyone is piling on. I get it, people don't like Groupon, but some of this is less based in rationale than in emotion/personal disdain for the product.

I'm not a fan of Groupon either, but damn, just because they are easy to poke at doesn't mean we should. Investors are supposed to perform due diligence before investing in a company, and if they didn't, then they weren't scammed, they were

Call me crazy, but at the rates data costs are decreasing, it seems like Amazon could create this service as a loss leader and give it away for free. What does the future look like? Everyone paying $10 month to have data in the cloud? I dou

Of course they do, they're trying to disrupt the company that's trying to disrupt the industry.

Looks awesome, but if I hear "A Heroku for..." about one more thing, I'm going to flip out. It's closer to Urban Airship than Heroku. Just because they are both YC companies doesn't mean they have to be compared.

I pay $20/month to watch Blockbuster online (only supported by my DVD player I think), get unlimited DVD's in the mail, and unlimited trades in store. I really like it, and it's nice to go get what I want when I'm in the mood, rather than h

I once sent an email to my subscribers offering a discount code (this was a very small list) and within a day, the coupon was on retailmenot. I think in the future, I'm going to have a coupon box with codes published in as many places as po

I've canceled several purchases for the same reason she did. Granted, if I need it, I buy it, but when it comes to discretionary purchases, the box has made a difference. Maybe it's anecdotal, but add enough of them together and you have a

I like their style, and I would've made the same move. Though I'm speaking on the outside looking in, Union Square seems to be much more connected with the industry and their investments. I think they probably "get it" more than most. Props

This concerns me because I can see it reaching an even bigger scale across all markets, especially in light of these new "reputation monitor" rackets where companies try to improve small b/m reputation online in places like Yelp & Urban

This certainly increases your professionalism in the eyes of the users, but I'm amazed by how quickly companies can implement things of this scale. I can't wait for the day when I can open my own 24 hour hotline :) Good on ya mate.

You sort of gloss over things like your Kickstarter project receiving full funding, and writing an article for a magazine. It seems like these were a major portion of your early momentum and I wondered if you think you'd have the same resul

I bought a Blue Cross Blue Shield plan privately. For less than $500, I got full dental and medical, including maternity, for my wife and 3 children.

I use the word evil as a descriptor of people without guilt or shame when hurting others. Maybe they are down on their luck, addicted to drugs, or just hateful, but I don't think you have to be religious to believe in evil.

Of course there's a place for this. If you are serious about building an app, then you wouldn't be asking for justification before doing so - just build it, and see what happens.

Why should AirBnB offer to replace her stuff, when she made the mistake of not properly screen the person, and left everything free for the taking while away during the rental period. Sure, maybe they need better security, but no one forced
