Xapiand depends on xapian-core which is licensed under GPL (not LGPL). Makes me think that Xapiand should be licensed under GPL, instead of MIT?

github.com/oklog/ulid does something similar: https://godoc.org/github.com/oklog/ulid#Monotonic

This guarantees that ULIDs generated by the same machine are monotonic. Of course, the guarantee doesn't apply to different machines.

Yes. I did the math and got the same result, relying on a perfect entropy hypothesis.

I did the math too after reading your comment and got the same result: on average, with 1,000,000 ULIDs per second, I'll wait 50 million years before hitting the first collision. Here is the Python code I used: https://gist.

Thanks! But I wonder why the section 6.11 about vboximg-mount is missing on the .org version of the manual: https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch06.html

I'm unable to find anything about the vboximg-mount utility in the documentation, except in the release notes.

If the observations confirm the prediction of this new theory, Dr Farnes could very well be the recipient of the next physics Nobel Prize!

Hi. Glad you liked it! I like Docker swarm lightness and simplicity, but I regret there is no official and built-in solution to automatically attach/detach volumes associated to a service (for example backed by Amazon Elastic Block Sto

Right, but that has nothing to do with connection pooling and sync. And there is no structural reason that makes easier to implemented prepared statements for PostgreSQL than for Cassandra. It's anecdotal evidence.

I don't understand. What makes you think it's easier for NoSQL clients (versus SQL clients) to correctly implement connection pooling and async networking? For example, MongoDB and Cassandra wire protocols are not based on HTTP. A

Right, DigitalOcean load balancer is really handy! I'm curious to know what you think of swarm after you tried it :-)

I used to do that before switching to Docker swarm mode (docker stack deploy automates rolling deploys with zero downtime). In my experience, it's not that simple to do it correctly. You have to start the new containers, wait for them

When you deploy new versions of your app, is there a short downtime between the moment you stop the old version and the moment you start the new one?

Interesting! When you rollout a new version, how do you coordinate docker-compose and Traefik to avoid any user-facing downtime (no 502)?

Even on a single-node, I think Docker swarm mode is a better choice than docker-compose. Docker swarm mode is integrated in Docker. You just run `docker swarm init` to enable it. It gives you everything docker-compose provides, plus configu
