With your stack, how do you deploy new versions with zero downtime? Do you have a load balancer and start the new version, switch new traffic to the new version, drain connections to the old version, then stop the old version? And how do yo

Use Google App Engine, Clever Cloud or Scalingo.

I asked because the ability to live without a car depends on where you live. In Berlin, which is one of the biggest european cities, it's definitely doable.

I agree that Telegram is primarily a messaging app like WhatsApp or Messenger. But its group feature has become really powerful, and can be used as an alternative to IRC (except for the fact that a "group" can't be divided in

What do you think of Telegram, compared to Discord? Telegram has one feature I miss in Discord: quote replies. It makes easier to follow conversations in a crowded channel. It is the most upvoted feature in the Discord feedback tool: https

YouTube is not really a SPA as in React or Vue. It looks like they use something similar to TurboLinks or Intercooler: https://youtube.github.io/spfjs/ Edit for downvoters: Ok, technically, YouTube is a SPA. What I mea

How cloud providers make hosting simpler for SPA and not for server-side rendered apps? Agreed, for the front, you can use something like Netlify. But for the backend, the game has not changed. What do you use?

I like the simplicity advocated by Pieter Levels. The fact that he uses PHP with PHP-FPM solves the problem of deploying a new version (starting the new version, switching new connections to the new version, draining existing connections, s

Can't agree more with the description of why multicore is important. This is exactly why we switched from Python to Go for some stuff.

Completely agree. I have the same issue with Google Cloud and DigitalOcean. This is a real need for SaaS providers. A wildcard customer-name.my-saas.com is not enough. Many customers want something like service-name.customer-name.com.
