Last time I checked, VS Code didn't use librigpreg directly. It was calling the ripgrep binary instead.

It makes the form features useless for hosting websites for non profits organizations and campaigns (which is a perfect use case for a static website).

Great! Is Cloud Run positioned as a possible replacement for App Engine?

The adoption of Visual Studio Code by a large part of the respondents in just a few years is impressive (initial release was in April 2015).

Looks like a managed caprover.com :-) Is there a way to store immutable files (something similar to S3)? Is the filesystem available and persistent? Regarding PostgreSQL and other databases, do you backup the WAL? (DigitalOcean Managed Data

Regarding SQLiteBrowser, I guess you have to download a copy of the database on your local workstation?

I have an app that uses an in-memory queue too in one thread :-) I'm curious: why do you queue instead of directly writing to the database?

Thanks for sharing your experience with SQLite :-) What are the advantages, in your own experience, of using SQLite instead of something like PostgreSQL? With PostgreSQL, you could run database migrations during business hours and use a pro

Are all writes blocked during database migrations? ALTER TABLE is quite limited in SQLite (for example there is no DROP COLUMN). Have you missed this?

Yes, this will work of course :-) I was thinking of something more "graphical", similar to pgAdmin or SequelPro, when you need to navigate in a dataset.

Where do you queue: in memory? on disk? in a dedicated queue server (Redis, Kafka, ActiveMQ, etc.)? in another SQLite database?

Didn't know about them! The pricing is great for hobby projects, with a free plan and a $5 plan (a lot less than the $200 mentioned in the article…).

Interesting post. But there other things to consider in addition to the price, like the supported versions of PostgreSQL, the supported PostgreSQL extensions, and service availability during automatic updates. To illustrate my comment, I li

What do you mean by "injecting secrets into the environment"? You mean a section in your app.yaml like this one: env_variables: DB_PASSWORD: "this is a secret" As for as I know, in the Standard and Flex en

There is some lock-in with Google Datastore, but not with App Engine, at least with the new "standard environment" based on gVisor. I run perfectly standard Go or Python HTTP services.

I did the same thing. Docker Compose was what I wanted for a single-machine deployment, but I soon discovered it was unable to manage a rolling deploy (start new containers before stopping the old ones). So I switched to Docker Swarm on a s
