Yes, battery cells don't have any software. But we are also designing and producing whole battery systems, and that includes creating in-house software for our battery management system, our IoT gateway and our battery fleet management

Using docker compose up to deploy a GraphQL API with ECS at Northvolt. Good experience so far, except for having to rely quite a lot on x-aws-cloudformation overlays to work around the tool limitations. In other words, it helps a lot, but y

I got interested by the idea of a virtual machine for microcontrollers, but I'm less excited about having to use a new dedicated programming language, and the ESP32 being the only supported hardware.

Thanks! Not having window functions and CTEs is a significant limitation for any kind of data analysis. But I guess the main use case is pure OLTP where it is – a bit – less relevant.

Really great finally seeing a “serverless” SQL database based on MySQL and Vitess that scales from 0 to n, even with a free tier! Where are you hosted? What latency should we expect from AWS, GCP, DigitalOcean and fly.io? And also what degr

I used to think like that but syncing files and syncing passwords across multiple devices are different things, mainly because of conflict management. If you have a conflict on a file which has been modified on two devices, there is not tha

Seems like you use Lambda to host an HTTP service? apex/gateway is really nice to implement the server using standard Go net/http interfaces instead of proprietary AWS SDK. But why not use ECS instead of Lambda and just host conta

Since SQLite is embedded in your program, why not use your programming language directly. SQLite can even callback in custom functions you define. For example in Python: https://docs.python.org/3/library/sqlite3.ht

You don't really need v8 JavaScript functions built-in in the database when you use SQLite, because SQLite is running in the same process than your application. The round trips between your application and SQLite cost almost nothing. A

SQLite is really great. By using it, you don't have to install and maintain another service, and you don't have to think about things like network security. From that point of view, that's clearly simpler. But it also introdu
