Most people acknowledge that social media has an unprecedented ability to sway elections. Wouldn't it follow that allowing them to deplatform politicians is a seriously concerting form of censorship, private business or no?

What was the intent? Do you know or are you assuming? I think if their goal was to actually take control of the capitol things would have gone much differently. I find it hard to believe this was anything but a protest.

Leave it alone. Reddit did the right thing early on by minimizing /r/td spam on the front page. Aside from that I'm convinced there were no problems posed by /r/td or /r/donaldtrump aside from those invent

VK is much, much more popular than FB is Russia. It's a Russian company and absolutely forced to censor content on behalf of the govt.

The protesters left peacefully after a few hours. The senate isn't holy ground, nor are the people inside it divine. They work for us, after all. All things considered the events left me pretty unscathed.

To me there's an obvious double standard here: there's a tacit acceptance that social media has the power to actively sway elections (e.g. FB in 2016). How could it be that banning certain political groups from these platforms is

As a very occasional reader of /r/td I saw a lot more accusations of this type of behavior than actual instances of it. Certainly no more so than other extreme subreddits like /r/latestagecapitalism or even /r/

Webpack is one of my absolute favorite tools. It's easy to reason about and a pleasure to use. It absolutely checks the "navigable" box in my book. However, it got constant flack (esp. here on HN) for being too complicated. A

The problem is we're currently in the worst of both worlds. When politicians promise to tax the wealthy they usually end up taxing the upper middle class: people rich enough that nobody feels bad for them but "poor" enough th

The second quote is what Redux actually is, the first is the result of massive amounts of cargo culting. It's actually why I don't mind Redux's boilerplate. It's punishment for using Redux when you don't have to.
