If you use Android, Firefox on Android is also really nice because it can sync with your desktop and also has about a dozen extensions (ublock origin, dark reader, etc.)[1]. And then Iceraven[2] is even better, because it's just Firefo

One of the only times I got detention in high school was when playing CS 1.6. It wasn't for playing the game, though - our class had done something good and as a reward we were allowed to goof off and play games that period. But, a cla

IMO, natural gas lines to homes are no longer a necessity. Better overall efficiency can be achieved by burning the gas at a power plant, sending electricity to the home, and using a heat pump to heat the home. Similarly, induction stove to

That's a fair point. I am in the US, and I'm sure that was part of what helped me get the jobs that I did get. Most of my clients were from the US, a couple were even from the same city I was in. It sounds like the OP is also in t

Ah. Well nevermind that idea, then. I suppose the OP will just have to stick to smaller jobs.

For what it's worth, I used to do work on freelancing sites ~10 years ago and just tended to ignore the race to the bottom. I initially charged $50/hr, and regularly raised my rates so that I was up over $150/hr by the time I

We'll, that's something. 5 new extensions will bring the total up to 23. I still don't get why they make it so difficult to use any of the thousands of other extensions that are available.

Yep, that's exactly what I did. There's still one or two addons I've come across that weren't enabled, but it's far better than the official Firefox.

Yeah, I know there's workarounds, but it's a pain in the rear. Currently I'm using Iceraven which is essentially just Firefox with about a thousand extensions enabled instead of 17.

Meanwhile in Firefox for Android: absolutely nothing is going on with extensions, because Mozilla disabled nearly all of them.

First, as raincom mentioned, an expanding battery is a major concern. I'd recommend putting it somewhere fireproof immediately (such as in a metal trash can, or on a concrete pad), and making a plan to have the battery removed and pr

Yeah, that sounds like a plausible culprit. And I wouldn't consider it outside the realm of possibility for Apple to replace the SSD for free - even if the laptop is now out of warranty.

I'd recommend taking it into an Apple store and asking them about it. I don't think I've ever in my life seen an SSD with less than 80-90% life left. Something has to have gone wrong for it to have burned up 95% of it's

On my 2021 MBP, I have to use the USB-C/MagSafe cable to get 140W charging. Using a USB-C to USB-C cable (with the same charger) gets 100W charging instead because of a limitation on the laptop side (USB PD 3.1 on the MagSafe port vs U

I wouldn't call them unrelated. They're both charging connectors with magnets. (I know the iPhone one is wireless, but still.) Also, the laptop side is on it's third iteration, so at this point "MagSafe" is more of

Another reason the Air is a good choice for most people is that it doesn't have a fan. I've cleaned quite a bit of dust/lint/etc. out of various laptops. Without a fan, that's much less likely to be an issue. In one

The worst part is that, despite treating their software like a joke, every damn business guards their source code, protocols, etc. as if it were their crown jewels. So end users end up having to reverse engineer it just to fix issues that t
