It is worth recognizing that our economic system fails to monetize the development of quality software. Software Freedom is a highly regarded aspect of software (users want it, developers want to provide it), but we can't find a way to

I was surprised how quickly I got used to it. Occasionally I have to trace blocks but not very often, and the tradeoff feels wonderful (it's much more rare that I catch myself re-formatting things to avoid the 80char limit).

In that screenshot, it would help if the toolkit showed the extent of the textboxes. Having the bare floating text in a sea of white provides minimal context.

I do think that's better. But I'm concerned that if focus changes have a visible effect, that could also be disconcerting to a user. I think I'd have to try it out.

Not bad. Certainly better than inline labels. However, I think another con is the distraction of stuff moving around as soon as I start to type. Let me be clear, it's not that there's movement. It's that if a box asks me t

Not at all. I consider it wholly inappropriate for people to be restricted from copying and sharing data, and believe copyright should be abolished for human good. Of course I'm ok with some speech restrictions for, say, privacy re

Capitalism often presents a choice between aggressively building unsafe products, or losing out to the competition. It's extremely hard to win in a fast market by being stable, secure, and correct, at least when it comes to software.

Personally, I consider "free if you refer 5 users" sort of an offensive trick. It presents quite odorously the falseness behind the $20/yr pricetag, and makes me value the ethics behind that price less.
