I was a Pro subscriber until last week. When I was chatting with Claude, it kept asking a lot of personal questions - that seemed only very very vaguely relevant to the topic. And then it struck me - all these AI companies are doing are jus

Technical excellence is often overlooked by the MBA groups. They will simply walk into a project, pick something perfectly functional and ask you to tear it down for no fucking reason other than to demonstrate "they add value" to

You can find specialized roles than Rails and usually more experienced (understandably) but most companies would be really open if you told them you have a Rails background but want to learn Elixir. The pool size is less, but the pay is mor

Yes, but still, targeting is done even in billboards based on the location's demographics based on census data. It's not random. Some countries in Asia (like Singapore, Malaysia) have digital bill boards to target certain demograp

I don't blame you, the FOMO is real to the point even basic ChatGPT wrappers are getting funded these days, I guess.

OpenAI is already building complex user models. And I mean, super detailed user models - where you are from, what you do, what are your most vulnerable weaknesses, what you care about the most and everything else. This is information even t

Here you go: Sorry, I miquoted the company, it was Vercel, not Cursor. "A compressed 8KB docs index embedded directly in AGENTS.md achieved a 100% pass rate, while skills maxed out at 79% even with explicit instructions telling the age

I'm actually on the fence with skills. Vercel shared a study where they claimed skills performed actually worse [0] - than just injecting into the context directly via agents.md. Similarly, there was a paper recently that suggested the

Agreed 100%. I shifted to Phoenix/Elixir years ago but I still love Rails for all the sensible defaults it provides.

If Rails is considered a worse framework, then I'm pretty much speechless. Not everything has to be about performance. Security is a thing too.

Google is the new Open AI. Open AI is the new Google. Guess who wants to shove advertisements into paying customers' face and take a % of their revenues for using their models to build products? Not Google.

The fundamental of software engineering is built on basic logic. If an engineer made a mistake in a basic logical problem, yes, that does make them less of a software engineer. It's the difference between memorization and actual proble

That's a good idea. I will publish something open source. Gemini has Pro, Thinking and Flash. The pro is the one I'm referring to. The thinking, I haven't used it much for development though.

Anthropic is just doing this out of spite. They had a real scenario to win mindshare and marketshare and they fucked up instead. They could have done what Open AI did - hired the OpenClaw/d founder. Instead, they sent him a legal notic

I am not a fan of OpenAI but they are not exactly hiring a security researcher. They are hiring an aspiring builder who has built something the masses love. They can always provide him the structure and support he needs to make his products
