Of all the people in tech I know as friends or professionals I know of exactly one guy who is diligent about comparing checksums and it's the same guy with a multi thousand dollar homelab. Absolutely nobody is doing this frequently un

If Apple didn't expect users to use this feature then they shouldn't have released it (or advertised it at WWDC no less) in the first place. It's like selling a manual transmission car with a broken clutch and then complainin

A lot of people are focusing on the Bluetooth aspect of this which seems to be the most inconsequential part of it. Of course you need to connect to the brain device remotely; what do you want, a USB port on top of your head? Or should we g

Data entry will probably be obliterated as you will just be able to insert rows into databases or spreadsheets in a few milliseconds rather than needing to type out entries from papers or receipts. There are already ML solutions to this but

This is difficult to say because pong involves moving components while the box stays still. In order to play pong the monkey must first estimate where the ball will go and then give the command to move the cursor. This indicates that Neural

Odd argument. SMS is a hellscape to DIY (especially financially), email even more so with DKIM. If by SMS/email you mean "Twilio" or "Mailchimp," well, that's no different than using a third party push service.

HackerNews, I guess, not NewsForHackers (:P) Although I do think that kind of rule of thumb is dumb. I've read plenty of materials with titles like that that have been informative and well written.

Because essentially 100% of web pages that request push notification access are garbage tabloids that nobody cares about. No push notifications on mobile Safari means that there is no incentive to build mobile web apps that function similar
