Seems a bit late in the conversation to mention this but there is no need to rewrite code to port from python 2.x to 3.0. Basically, move to python 2.6 -- largely an incremental change. Then use the -3 switch to find all the warnings and th

It seems to me that frameworks are too big to develop easily and they lock the user into a certain... well... framework. Anyone interested in coming up with a bottom up approach? Ie. make higher and higher level tools for a certain task (al

Great idea but DNS is not exactly the most secure of protocols. Also, the current domains can already do this through arbitrary records (as has been mentioned already).

So... banks do add value to the economy. They efficiently allocate capital. Quite a few banks nowadays may be overpaid and badly managed but that does not mean that there is no productivity in banking and finance and it does not mean that b

I should point out that hg is perfectly capable of maintaining multiple named branches in the same physical repository. Checkout hg branch. I am not that familiar with bzr but it probably has something similar.

Inaccurate. For example, in the section for "Any Workflow," the author contends that git is better than bzr, hg, svn, and perforce. However, this is completely false. bzr has far better support for the central repository (svn-style workflow

Its not functional programming per se but higher level languages in general. Most scheme and lisp environments already come with high-level abstractions which completely obviate the need for any obvious design pattern (like visitor, etc...)
