Those are easily understood if you consider F_n mod k. Ex. F_n mod 2: 1, 1, 0 (as 1+ 1 = 2 == 0 in mod 2), 1, 1, 0, ... So on and so forth.

Actually, from a friend who actually specializes in COBOL: the number of lines of COBOL in production use are actually increasing due to regular maintainance.

Thats why I like FVWM. I can tell it to get rid of all the tool-bars and window borders because I don't normally use a mouse and so all those things are utterly useless for me.

A lot of people already have. The fact that school voucher systems and charter schools exist in some areas is testament to their heroic effort. However, it is too little and maybe too late.

One point from the article: RDBMSs do not represent data in the same way as in the real world. This is a horrible misconception. In fact, CouchDB et al. store data like we do in the real world but they certainly do not represent data as i

Interesting article but I wish the author would be a little more concise. Rambling on about football picks when the topic was teaching was a bit annoying even though he tried to tie the two together.

Understand that unless the C/C++ code being compiled is actually targeted for gcc optimization, you won't get more than ~2-5% speedup in code even with -O3 or higher. Infact, go high enough like -O9 and you may even get incorrect code. The

And another stupid idea goes down in flames (I hope). We need more govt. failures like this. At least until politicians get tired of promoting idiotic politically expedient barely half-thought out ideas.

At that point, we are venturing into LISP territory where the line between mini-language and library is truly thin (and sometimes non-existant like in the CL loop macro). My standard: Can a common JS interpreter (say firefox) execute the co

You can still use ZFS on linux using fuse so unless you want to boot off of it, you should be able to use it for any file server needs when it becomes stable. A better option would be using freeBSD with ZFS. FreeBSD has much better support
