Microsoft has a history of shitty behavior like this. One of the first things I change when I need to use a new computer is change alt tabs to windows only instead of treating edge tabs like windows.

On fedora, I use alt + print screen to capture the current active window. I practically always maximize my windows so it works for me. Assuming Ubuntu hasn’t messed with gnome too much, this should work. See if it works better for your work
