Interesting points. Thanks for pointing this out. I'm nowhere near your level of comprehension in either language, but agree that spending some time outside of curly brace land gets you more comfortable with other languages.

Forth is like lisp in that there are lots of implementations, but this effect is multiplied. In fact, most folks that learn forth roll their own which is what the inventor Charles "Chuck" Moore does for every project. Forth is uni

Agreed, but the key difference is that this is not only massively expensive, but will require years of construction and the coordination of millions of people. To make that happen, FERC is trying to incent the right market conditions and so

Now this is an expensive hobby. I spent this on my last car (a necessity where I live). It was a great read though and I'd probably buy one as well if I had the money, time, and space. They seem like underrated machines.

If you Google around a bit, mainframes are pretty expensive, but have very high up times and other benefits.

I've never heard of that, but would've loved one. Kinda useless with cellphones, but I could see that being nice for backpacking if the battery lasts long enough.

Don't forget "Boktai The Sun is in Your Hands" for GBA. It came with a solar sensor on the cartridge that required the gamer to go outside to charge their solar gun in order to kill vampires. Very cool, but it grew annoying f

Population and load is only one piece to the puzzle. A larger country means a much larger and more expensive transmission grid.

In the energy market things would be cheaper when replacing it with renewables, but spending billions on additional wind farms, solar, and storage has a steep initial price tag. You'd also have to spend billions on transmission to conn

The US has multiple states larger than Germany I think. Regardless, it is much bigger and requires more work.

I sympathize with where you're coming from. There needs to probably be a unified response from each country to make this transition happen as soon as possible. Please keep in mind that building a coal plant wasn't a dumb idea 20 y

I'm sorry, but you seem to not understand the realities of how this industry works. Even if a utility wants to retire an unprofitable coal unit, they might not be allowed to do so (by the state) if they're still paying it off. Let

It depends on what you want to do as this industry is HUGE. Do you care about metering and working at the solar panel or wind farm level? Or maybe on the actual energy markets that commit and dispatch all generation in a region? Or maybe th

I saw on the Adacore website a success story for another company that sells smart metering products, so it is nice to see all the work in this space. There are plenty of major vendors as well with smart meter products and the accompanying s
