The flipside is that the AI-written code I've seen at work is usually painfully obvious upon human code review. If you need a tool to detect it, either it's good AI-written code, or you have particularly inept code reviewers.

Just about every I/O interface in the Python standard library does it: env vars, reading data in files, reading stdin, even filenames themselves.

I'm not normally one to gripe about name conflicts, but I knew this was going to get confusing. You could install an implementation of the Mamba LLM using the Mamba package manager!

Right, but being fatalistic and giving up is even less likely to be successful than attempting to create counterbalancing force in the system.

The article is long (but interesting!) and a lot of it isn't about the particular scientific discovery in the headline. Here's the part that describes the discovery: > The most mind-blowing moment, not only for De La Mata but t

Fortunately I'm not a software developer! Also yes, you're right about having good estimates for medical tests. Mainly I take issue with your claim that "Running most tests twice won't necessarily give you any useful add

There are well-established frameworks in statistics and decision theory for handling this kind of situation, some of them in continuous successful use for over a century. It's not exactly a solved problem, but we aren't fumbling a

It really sucks that you ended up with c. diff even with the probiotics. But it's a relief that the doctors seem to care. Here in the northeast at best they offhandedly suggest trying a probiotic, but give no advice beyond that. If y
