There's a variant of arXiv.org called ar5iv.org which renders papers in HTML5 instead of PDF. It is very handy when reading papers in a browser and it is generated from the same LaTeX files. You just need to replace the "x" w

eMacs is just about the only word that autocorrect refuses to spell correctly, no matter how many times I nudge it to. And they haven't even sold a product called eMac since 2006. It’s a recurring reminder that this phone is owned by A

That’s a complex question. You are asking about general equilibrium effects: where the economy will be once companies and workers across industries all adjust to large-scale automation. Folks who work in roles that are automated away could

I also think that parent's comment is overly dismissive of LSP. But for me, Emacs with lsp-mode does the things that you describe.

But it isn’t 0.25 percent. It’s 0.25 percentage points. [1] Writing 25 basis points is shorter than that. [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Percentage_point

Even if you don't trust Mozilla, they cannot do what Google is already doing. Mozilla doesn't have nearly enough market power to force something like WEI down our throats.

The difference between 0% and 5% is that at 0%, if you want an alternative, you have to write it yourself, but at 5%, the alternative exists. Mozilla is not dead. If you don’t like what Google is doing, don’t pretend that Firefox does not e

In addition to Forth, R can do this too: x |> zing_to_crumb() |> crumb_to_glork() |> glork_to_floob() -> my_floob But it is not idiomatic.

I don’t know if they won the game of capitalism but their market power and profit incentive are facts. If you don’t want to stop using Chrome, then your alternative is to buy a controlling share of Alphabet and appoint a Board that forgoes

Google is a monopolist that acts like a monopolist. Its main revenue source is advertising. So it will use its monopoly power to secure advertising. You cannot expect Google to act against its own self-interest only because you ask nicely.

Interesting. The pipe operator is more idiomatic in OCaml where this would be crumb_of_zing x |> glork_of_crumb |> floob_of_glork versus zing_to_crumb x |> crumb_to_glork |> glork_to_floob

Emacs doesn’t have to be the most popular editor in order to find contributors. It is under active development and I don’t see signs that it would be left behind anytime soon.

I assume it also has a connection to how algebraic data types are written in OCaml. For example, the equivalent of Haskell's `Maybe` and Rust's `Option` is type 'a option = None | Some of 'a So calling this projec

Have you tried converting the dot file to svg and manipulating the svg file in the build process to improve its appearance? I'm not sure if it's worth the effort but perhaps it's a viable alternative.
