Not qualified to comment on the depth of physics in there, but the theory sounds very intriguing and fascinating. It's important to push our collective thinking - and the authors definitely have the expertise to do that.

I had the same reaction. Luckily I saw your post about "clicking the donut" and then realized how to run it. Also to uninstall - you first have to quick - click on the gear in the "donut" and then delete application.

Thanks for the balanced context. That provides a new perspective into the note and makes a lot of sense.

I read the full content in the link posted and the still agree with the original comment poster(not sure why they are being downvoted) . At best, the post seems like poor judgment in choice of what to say for that occasion.

It's easy to miss the data processing and storage story. It potentially sounds like a fascinating story of vertically integrating to make your processing, cloud storage, data management (of huge amounts of data) more attractive compare

Interesting observation! FWIW I read the original poster's comment and understood it very easily and felt the negations flowed fairly naturally in their sentence. Good observation nonetheless!

I had this perception that those spinning gifs and moving text made pages crazy hard to parse but I was pleasantly surprised that this site seemed simpler and easier to parse than half the sites today with pop ups, notifications, and blocki

All valid points, but as another data point for my personal use case - creating a single web app - all the points the creator writes resonate. I've no interest in going to documentation in various places and dislike large dependencies

Agree. Given the growth numbers and their market leadership in the EV area, there's a strong case to be made that this 'loss' is more of an 'investment' to set up for future revenue growth and consequently profits t

In addition to the (great) framework you listed, there is another big factor - incentives. You may be aligned in principles, have the same info etc. but if your incentives are misaligned it can be hard to agree.

Great answer - thanks. HN is a better place because of answers like this: logically structured, has references, simple but not 'dumbed down'.

Sorry to hear about your experience and naming the company - no one should have to go through that. I had no perception of the company you mentioned but now when I hear someone mention it or consider joining, I know what to say.

That's a very misleading headline. The 'short' in this case is the fact that Morgan Stanley had additional leverage in addition to the 15% Greenshoe option to stabilize the stock. Even a basic understanding of incentives (let

It's important to realize that Softbank's strategy may not be just to look at the startup's chances in isolation but looking at the whole portfolio of companies in a space (self-driving vehicles) and look at a range of capabi
