Why tho? Cheating just takes away from the cheater's experience and doesn't affect anyone else. It's pretty much like any physical game. You can play (or cheat) it any way you like even though the game is designed to be playe

Let's say you are developing a design application (think figma) which works in the browser. You don't want to lock the whole project just because someone needs to change a label somewhere. With CRDTs n people can open and edit the

I was talking mostly about the desktop space. My experience is from more or less the current generation of desktop OSes (GUIs as default etc.).

I agree with most of what you said. > If I don't expose them to coding, how could I ever know they're interested or not? About this one; programming nowadays is not some obscure niche thing that it's impossible to come by

Yes they can. That's why I said "unless he is interested on his own". I believe many parents are so set on "preparing their children for the future" that they forget about "now" and force their children t

Why would you encourage your kids to learn to code? Do you not like them? But seriously; I'm not planning to teach my kid to code unless he is really interested in it by himself. I rather have him play outside.

Which country is that you are referring as Eastern Europe? I live in Eastern Europe and every designer + most of the devs I know are using Macs. I am not originally from here and my home country currently is economically worse than most Eas

Future? As a webdev I don't remember having to check if something works on Firefox since probably 7-8 years at least. Userbase is too small to justify allocating resources.

I think we will see more web based versions of those speciality applications. There is already an Autocad running in browser.

As an end-user I love Electron because it allows products to evolve quicker and across all platforms. I would choose an Electron app (or if it runs in a browser, even better) over a native one.

You don't need precise sensor data to achieve this. Afaik IOS notifies the app when the orientation changes.

This might come as a surprise but not everyone sees the world from a "freedom" perspective. In terms of practical/day to day experience we won something that works over something that didn't.

It's true for me at least. I try to avoid installing anything and look for a web based alternative first. If I can't find anything then I fall back to native. I'm looking forward to the day where web based OSes are a viable s
