Ever receive a flash flood warning, severe weather alert (lightning, tornado), or amber alert on your phone? It'd be the same notification. I'm sure there's others too, those are just the ones I've received before.

Maybe, but layman programmers also tend to vastly underestimate the work needed to finish projects, because "it's easy, you just need to..." I would assume the last 10% is going to be just as hard as the first 90%, just like

I mean driving is easily the most dangerous thing people do on a daily basis. It's the leading cause of death for Americans under 55. You're not really making the point you think you are.

As a potential US customer, I was also a bit put off by this. Do you support all US zip codes? What kind of recipes would I be able to order if I sign up, assuming the availability is partly based on my delivery address? The free trial requ

This seems to hold true for many social media sites: facebook, reddit, twitter. It takes effort on behalf of the user to make their experience on the site "better". And by better I mean, less divisive, and less mindless scrolling

I don't think they're necessarily being dishonest, just misleading probably unintentionally. Speaking of paranoia, I think their poor communication led to plenty of paranoia two years ago, and it seems like there's plenty of

This situation seems a lot like two years ago with the CDC saying "there are no confirmed cases in the US", while it looking really likely that the virus has already established itself here and we simply haven't tested for it

I mean even if what you're suggesting is true, there could be dozens of reasons for that. There's still plenty of places in the US where you'll be discriminated against for being openly gay in public, leaving the relative ano

One common refrain used to discriminate against gay people has been that they are "sexual deviants". Casually throwing out an anecdotal guess that gay people are more college educated because of all the sex they're having is

Part of the reason for restrictions is because the popularity of the area overwhelms the natural area and causes too much human impact, thus restrictions get put in place so the area can be protected. I for one would love to see more permit

The one that really annoys me is when they do this for airline tickets. Airlines release tickets for a flight in batches of 10, which is why you never see a "only x seats left" message where x is greater than 10. Once all 10 are s

It'd be nice if they had defined what it means to separate personal and work lives. Like, don't check email after work hours? Or, don't be personal friends with coworkers? Or don't discuss personal plans during work smal

What an odd comment. You don't need to move out of the US in order to reduce how much you drive, or live somewhere your kids can walk to school (source: me). Expecting people to make such a drastic change for fairly minor lifestyle cha
