I think what you'd see is people writing changes on some other document (or on paper) and then coordinating who's office and who's aides will make the traceable commit to the law, in that case? In the same way that right now

Flip just one character and see if the romance changes in interesting ways, or if you can use prejudice against the character or something. At least a little more interesting than just inverting a dynamic.

The goal of the rules based international order was to subject countries to laws, yes. Those laws could have been (and were various times in the past) enforced by larger organizations in the same way the state acts on citizens. Westphalian

Bandcamp is pretty close to this experience if they set it as "pay what you want" (which a lot of artists do)

Do you think a lot of techies are attending the inauguration? I don't think this will get a lot of attention outside of nerd circles really.

If you spend the taxes on productive things, infrastructure, subsidies, it seems like that grows the economy directly. Cutting taxes and spending (ie austerity) has a more mixed track record of getting out of economic recessions, in my view

So we're still testing out if tax cuts can increase consumer spending and grow the economy, then?

Tesla stock dipped a little today it seems but it's still up 8 percent over the month. I really don't understand those investors and how they price a struggling company so highly.

Interested enough to listen to a lecture for an hour is not the same level of interest as focusing on a book for many hours, basically. The two things aren't comparable in terms of depth, and many people are interested only enough for

I'm not sure I'm seeing the mystery - do you mean you think that book is not mentioned enough? Digestible lectures from a charismatic man (who made the television circuit pretty often) have a different audience than comprehensive

People spend a lot more effort and money lying to the voter base during election years than during the rest of the time.

Why would Gemini (the text model part) have that info? I'm sure that Google has some kinda analytics, or so on, but it wouldn't necessarily be part of training, the system prompt, or distillation directly.

It's about risk profile. The question isn't "which region goes down the least" but "how often will I be blamed for an outage." If you never get blamed for a US east outage, that's better than us-east-2 if

A big database that contains every song is pretty different from a recommendation system, web streaming, playlists, etc. Someone could use the dump to create something like that ofc, but the database itself isn't really the interesting

I don't think anyone is comparing to old monarchies or etc, they're mentally comparing it to the 1950s and 60s and the postwar economic boom times. You can point out that things weren't as good as they're presented back

Be sure you're taking care of your skin doing it, though. Get the good European sunscreens and so on, you don't want to age yourself prematurely.

I've heard 2:00 is some kinda sweet spot for the Spotify algorithm and payouts? You get paid per play so you don't want to it too long, but if your track is much shorter than two minutes you get penalized or something. I know they

There's some irony here considering Spotify used pirated mp3s at the start of their operations, I suppose.

I wonder if the historical format you might want to look at for "Chat" is letters? Definitely wordier segments, but it's at least the back and forth feel and we often have complete correspondence over long stretches from cert

I don't think they mean that kinda streamer - the idea is the roku tv can tell you're watching an ad even if it's on amazon prime, apple tv, youtube, twitch, wherever, and associate the ad watching with your roku account to p

More supply is crucial but efforts to reduce demand in the mean time probably won't hurt either. If tourists can stay in hotels and hostels that take up less housing that seems good? But you still need to build more housing obviously
