It’s sad that you think cliche tropes are a way to engage in civil discourse. I’m not even slightly “attached” to Elon. That’s nonsensical. I just asked a polite question. He is as “hateful” as anyone else who has accumulated enough success

Superb! Thank you! This is exactly what I was after. Reading now. Edit: The first one: “Short via long dated put options” … Is it not a conflict of interest for someone who is shorting Tesla to maintain an “elonmusklies.com” website? Or is

Having multiple systems for docs and Slack for follow-up questions is a major red flag. What you’re describing is a billion dollar search product opportunity though. Most orgs don’t have the discipline to have a single source of truth. So y

What insights should we expect to derive from this comparison? Just that a project has more commits? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Don't get me wrong, the site looks great and graphs are slick. But not particularly insightful. https://ossr

Found Grant’s visual explanation of convolution very informative to share with non-mathematician friends.

While I _agree_ with the sentiment that front end dev is a mess. This is like saying "Modern Sports is Ridiculous because there's not one team". There will always be multiple approaches to building Apps just as there are many

Facebook ("Meta") made $46.7 Billion in Profit in 2021. They have $42 Billion in cash. If the average engineer is paid $150k then these 11k people would cost the company 150,000 x 11,000 = 1,650,000,000 ($1.6 Billion/year) Ma

Long before there was Tesla and SpaceX there was Zip2 and Paypal; both software. Elon is first and foremost a software engineer. Yes, Twitter is social / content. But who better than someone who understands the platform well enough to

Totally agree! Peer review is the only valid feedback in many situations. You don’t see many ultra-successful serial entrepreneurs doubting on Elon! You see many of them driving Teslas. As someone who has been in the kitchen since childho

Never bet against Elon. Starlink alone will make more money than twitter ever could. If you don’t see the potential for Twitter. That’s fine. But don’t write an article about how it’s “hell” if you don’t have the vision for how to improve i

Most of the comments in this thread relate to LibDems rolling over on university tuition fees. Are there any focussed on the actual topic which is Clegg accepting a Bribe?

It’s great to be excited for the future. Agreed. It’s also good to be cautious about a future where Facebook owns all the Patents to the tech. That sounds like a dystopia to me.

@hdra did you capture your LiveView experience somewhere e.g. a learning log (blog post). I would love to read it as I’m sure everyone in the Phoenix team would. Thanks!

If you want an ultra productive, easy to learn and a delight to deploy+maintain stack, consider PETAL: Phoenix, Elixir, Tailwind, Alpine.js & LiveView. See: https://github.com/dwyl/technology-stack
