I have a repository with common config files. Whenever possible I prefer to not just symlink files but instead include them (source in shell, load-file in emacs, etc). That way I can still have local variations, work-related stuff, etc.

Yes. I use qcad/librecad very infrequently. But I used it for the first time for a renovation of my apartment in 2004 and it isjust great that when I was discussing a renovation with a neighbor I could still use it with the old files.

Ereaders have offline dictionaries. My Ereader has one based on Webster 1913. It works fine but it is of course missing words in modern books. But now you can get Wiktionary on many Ereaders which is just great.
