I stumbled on the idea of Program Synthesis when I was looking to solve VMProtect's Mixed-Boolean-Arithmetic (MBA) expressions in my own VMP Decompiler. I tried experimenting with this project but had limited success: https:/

Reverse engineering was and is a lot of fun! If anything its grown in demand, you just have to make sure you’re doing reverse engineering for where the demand is. Same skills, different targets :)

I’m glad someone preserved these tutorials. I was focused on cracking Safedisc games at the time, and even wrote some Safedisc/Safecast tutorials myself. I never had the skills to crack Securom though, respect to Human and Deroko and t

The same crops can be grown cheaply elsewhere. Artificially subsidizing California agriculture with unsustainably cheap water undercuts growers in other markets. Stop giving insanely cheap water to large growers with inefficient water usage

Numerous historians have shown that strategic bombing was counterproductive for three reasons: 1) It rallied civilian morale to side with the government. People were aggrieved that they were being bombed, and it stiffened their resistance a

I love this tool, but the AGPL license means I cannot use it at work due to company policies. I'm sympathetic and understand the author's reasoning for relicensing it under the AGPL, but I wonder how much that holds back adoption,

I'm no fan of China or Huawei (quite the opposite in fact), but I'd like to pause and inject a dose of skepticism into the conversation. Bloomberg's previous piece about China installing tiny chips onto server hardware to spy

Legislating away discount buyers would be like legislating away payday lenders. The only thing accomplished would be to leave a hole in the market which will be filled by shady loan sharks.

In infosec the hours are long, morale is fatalist, but at least the pay is good and jobs are plentiful. You have to make sure you manage your relationship with your job carefully, or you will burn out as the author did.
