Yeah YouTube are getting shittier by the day. I keep getting banners telling me that ad blockers aren't allowed on YouTube. Stuff is pretty unwatchable now without them. Well fuck you I'll just download the videos with yt-dlp inst

It doesn't. I work across both Windows and Apple stuff and have zero issues moving things back and forth on a regular basis. Hell even their email is plain IMAP+SMTP. Try that with O365/Microsoft. As for the repair? You can litera

Markdown export would be appreciated. My number one concern with Notes is that it is 100% opaque file formats (weird serialisation inside SQLite and no api). Backup to markdown would be great.

Correct. They don't. They're throwing cash in because they're running on faith and marketing. There's a lot of TSLA promotional noise from influencers (Lutnick included) to buy buy buy. This is of course because the inst

P/E ratio says meme stock all over it. Private equity are pulling out. They are selling off to ETFs (who don't care) and bag holders.

It’s because they are assholes and think they can get away with it. There’s no other reason. Now imagine what would happen without any regulation at all…

Gnome is just fucking horrible. I considered that but I know she's going to have problems with dragging title bars an accidentally clicking something. I did just consider buying her a Mac Mini and be done with it. That seems, to this d

It’s because Java and c# are so commoditised we don’t have to pay people as much. Also it’s about short term balance sheet not long term product management in the SME and small SaaS space. I don’t think anyone other then the developers give

At the cost of a generally worse end user experience and no offline ability. I am glad Apple didn't do that and stayed native for nearly everything. This is a big selling point for me.

Tried this with my mother. I had to rebuild the machine with Windows 11 LTSC afterwards. Which she hates but less than Linux which was totally unusable for her. YMMV but this isn't a real option for a lot of people.
