Install GIT. Otherwise stick to downloading repos manually as zip, unpacking them and moving them manually.

At least provide a screenshot. You even linked to a page saying that you should never use that character on a website. It's a rectangle for me as well.

This is so true. I did an apprenticeship as software engineer (but already coded for 3 years before that). In my whole class at vocational school there was not a single person who was genuinely interested in e.g. the data structures they we

This is something more web developers [or rather designers?] should focus on. It's 2013. We have so much processing power and yet some pages feel incredibly jerky and sluggish. While we can blame the DOM and it's layouts recalcula

Both? It probably means that you write in German and other messages are translated to your language (German). That's the only thing that would make sense.

Terrible keyboard? Android supports USB HID devices so just use whatever keyboard you normally use. I use my HHKB [1] when I am on the go which is 1000 times better than the on-screen keyboard. I also have two monitors at home and at work,

Especially the unreal engine Epic Citadel demo. Why do they waste time trying to move one of the most advanced and complex game engines to the web? A native UE3 game utilizes the full power of modern hardware. Even if they get JS to run at

All the HTML5/WebGL stuff may be nice for casual gamers, but as a gamer I really don't want all that stuff. Same visual quality/performance as a native game is probably not possible and every game in js will perform worse AND create more lo

Don't get me wrong, this is a cool demo, but as someone who experimented with verlet based physics before I don't understand what is so impressive about a basic implementation in JavaScript. The math behind it is ridiculously easy and JS go

A full server+client build and JBoss startup and deploy takes around 15 minutes. Of course a full build is only needed every once in a while but single components take 1-3 Minutes to build as well. I usually use the time to get coffee or pu

Why would you use a touchpad if you have a trackpoint? Get used to the trackpoint: less fatigue, faster and more exact control of the cursor and more ergonomic since your fingers pretty much stay on the homerow = less wrist movement (unless

Game consoles these days don't really need _any_ disc drive anymore. As long as you have at least a 6k or 10k connection you can get anything via steam, from indie devs (and... Origin) and so on in no time. I've been gaming for a long time
