Sorry, I had no intention to frame it as being free. Fair point though. Do check it all out though - it's a breath of fresh air.

They literally don't care if people want to buy it. They tell people not to. So there's nothing to take on the chin.

I'm a user of datastar, nothing more. And I'm defending the developers against all of the baseless slander here. And now Im forced to defend myself against your baseless slander. If you cared to read, you'd see that I said

The sibling comment already thoroughly addressed all of this, so there's no need to me to do so other than to say that, despite your good intentions, you don't seem to have even the slightest understanding of open source. Here

Makes sense! Nginx and redis are defintiely common for php. I haven't used Mercure at all, but I see no reason why it couldn't work with datastar. Might be something worth exploring, since it and the API Platform seem to be gainin

datastar is backend agnostic - you generate the html however you want. you can check out this repo if you want to see a simple golang implementation. https://github.com/zangster300/northstar And all of the sdks have so

the htmx dev literally created idiomorph because, among other reasons, OOB isn't sufficient. A version of idiomorph is what datastar uses internally

One other comment though: a lot of what you said rests upon the notion that people were relying on these features. First, barely anyone used datastar at that point, and those features were particularly arcane. So, the impact was minimal. S

the spec is literally just data-* (hence the name): you can add whatever you want to it and remain in spec. And they're meant to be read by javascript (like datastar) https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/W

Ive made similar points to the maintainers. It is what it is at this point. But, honestly, to the people who actually understand, like and use Datastar, none of this matters. Most of the outrage is performative, at best - as can be seen b

HTMX doesnt do half of what datastar does. And datastar's free version does 99% of what the pro version does And react should be paying people to take on its immense performance and maintenance burden

This is just SSR html/hypermedia in general - the way the web was designed and worked for a long time. This site is like that too! HTMX's html attributes are similarly defined in the backend. The difference with datastar is which
