Yeah, it's not like they will label something a train just because a single person says so. But if you have 10k responses with 95% confidence saying it's a train, it's very likely to be the case.

The most expensive (and ridiculous) thing that I've seen in the audiophile world is the Nordost Odin 2 cable, priced at $20k-$30k per m. I would have thought it was a joke until I saw actual people buying it.

LGTM = Looks Good To Me

Yes, but at the same time, I'm not sure how many people can thoroughly go through 2k commits and 100k diff for a single pull request. Most people, I assume, in that situation will just try to understand the main ideas behind the change

It's not like you would render and display the diffs in 2k emails at the same time either.

It's also a common pattern with code review: make a 100 lines change and you'll get at least 10 comments with endless bikeshedding, make a 100k lines change and people will say LGTM in no time.

That kind of manual intervention doesn't scale though. The only way it can work is to have community-curated lists of bad domains, similar to adblock lists, that users can upload to personalize their search result.

Worse than Google is putting it lightly... It's more or less useless.

That account was created the same day the comment was posted, most likely for the single purpose of posting the comment. Makes me think it's either an insider or someone with beef against the company.

How do you do client side hashing without the server sending the salt/pepper to the client, which is a really bad thing?

So after reading the post it seems you switched to a new language for your framework, integrated a new language runtime and implemented all these additional features for that runtime within half a year? And you did that all by yourself? Tha

While I appreciate the conscious size-saving effort, I need to ask: is 30 MB difference that big of a deal for desktop applications nowadays? A random Electron app that I download will easily take up hundreds of MBs disk space.

Back when I still used these I remembered they had horrible life span - I would take a new disk out from the box, wrote some files to it, then months later when I tried to read the disk I was unable to do so, with the disk drive making cons

The image thing is the most frustrating one. Most of the time someone sends me an image, I can see it in the chat, but as I click on it, the Teams UI bugs out and displays nothing.

People have used Google Drive for sharing pirated stuffs since forever. Google usually blocks it by restricting downloading instead of removing the file, but people kept finding out new ways to get around that, like making a copy of the fil

The pros of Teams search is it is pretty good at finding things, like random chat message from someone who has left the company years ago. The cons of Teams search is it is almost useless when you can only view the single message in the res

I believe this may be due to the popular spamming method lately which is tagging people into a Google Docs and share it so everyone receives a notification (the spam message). It works better than regular email spam since apparently Gmail d

It boggles my mind why this doesn't require any permission. Every now and then I misclick on some sketchy ads and it's always the loud alert ringtone + alert popup + back navigation hijacking + my phone vibrating non-stop. I'

My experience with Quora is it's extremely unpredictable. Sometimes you get lucky and get a high quality answer by a subject expert. Sometimes you get junk answers.

I don't get your point, if you don't want the anti-cheat on your machine then don't install and play the game, it's that simple. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

That first reply is so funny to me because it hits too close to home https://twitter.com/nice_byte/status/1466940940229046273 The more I do this, the more I gravitate towards the simple things.

Billing limits, as in, a hard limit over which resources will shut down and I can be sure I won't be charged over that limit? I'm pretty sure that doesn't exist.

I also have an old account that despite knowing the correct password AND having access to the recovery email for that account, Google refuses to let me log in and there's no recourse. It's frustrating to say the least.
