Yes, the lesson is not to contribute anything of value to open source or another person's platform. Creators need to use restrictive licenses, then all of these parasitical corporations will cease to exist.

No, you don't "remain the author". You have never been the author if you translate the real author's code base. The license is the one of the original, since this is unambiguously a derivative work.
