Now, that was a fascinating read! Can't believe I've never heard of this guy. The most interesting part to me: "...Le Roux decided to diversify and expand into illegal activities around 2007..." I guess I've never r

Not necessarily directly related to this article, but with Linux adoption among OEMs exploding recently, doesn't this just continue to grow the size of the kernel? What keeps it from becoming an even bigger monolithic behemoth than it

It appears that half of the memory is soldered to the board. That was also the case on my laptop mentioned above. It came with 4GB soldered, and 4GB in a slot. Why? I don't know. I was able to swap the 4GB with an 8GB and somehow it&#x

I just got a Lenovo V14 Ryzen 5 4500U laotop yesterday and this thing is amazing. It benchmarks almost as high as my Ryzen 5 1600 desktop PC, but it feels so much faster in actual everyday use. To those who scoff at repurposed laptop parts

I've had the same eBay account since 2001 and used it countless times over the years, and yet today I learned not only do they have a classified ads division, but also that it's so prominent that it sold for $9b. Interesting.

Because without patents and exclusivity, the return on the massive R&D involved doesn't exist. Naturally that removes the incentive for R&D (in the market as it exists today.)

I may be naive but I think the coder in Sweeny likes to see what Godot is doing, and the skeptic in me thinks that Sweeny knows Godot would only ever really eat at Unity's marketshare.

I was a teen also fiddling around those BASIC game programming engines like Dark and Blitz Basic. That was so much fun. All of my memories of Allegro mostly revolve around DJGPP. What an interesting piece of software that was.
