This doesn't seem like a very reasonable idea. The entire point of beta testing is to fix bugs. The beta testers don't owe you; they are doing you a favour if anything.

So you are the authority on everyone's gender? I don't think that anyone should have to justify their gender. What is the other part of the "transgender agenda"? Take over the world?

As far as I know voicemail uses flash messages to indicate the number of messages.

But why should that be? How does this encourage creativity? If anything it turns sample-based music into a legal minefield.

Not to mention that the original authors of the sampled music will not receive any money from this. This is simply an abuse of the copyright system.

There's a big difference between sending messages to text editor users and a logo on a website. Note that the logo is always there; it's just a little different this time.

Why is that a problem? If they want to send a message to a lot of people, their front page would be the best place, wouldn't it? God forbid you get a little bit of human rights activism with your search results...

How are consumers supposed to evaluate risk when private companies are under no obligation to provide them with information? It sounds like such a system would be amazing for companies, but quite terrible for anyone else.

How does this protect you? Wouldn't it be better to just run a firewall? Once someone gets access to your computer it's probably too late.

Are you sure about that? If you get 1000 people to pay $100 for your "product" that you don't ship to them, that's a pretty good profit. You can just walk away with the money, never to be seen again (under that name at l

I think it would be really helpful if Google disabled automatic updates for extensions. Letting third parties to push modified code to clients without any user intervention is just so insecure that I can't believe it actually is a feat

It still seems like a really bad idea to rely on a third-party to control your heating. They might not have any malicious intents, but they could just shut down the service one day and your thermostat won't be worth much anymore. Not t

What's the worst thing that could happen? CentOS is literally RHEL with the Red Hat branding removed. Even if Red Hat decided to cancel the CentOS project for some reason, the RHEL source code will still be available.

This is not about the right to make jokes. Comments about airport security should simply not be grounds for arrest. All this would cause is many innocent people being detained for saying what they think.

But a person can lead an unhealthy lifestyle and not be obese. Obesity is just one of the factors that can cause health problems. Shaming people for being obese (or for any reason) is certainly not going to help them.

I don't think it's reasonable to compare the effects of street methamphetamine (which is most likely not pure and the dose is not regulated) with the effects of therapeutical doses of dextroamphetamine prescribed by a doctor.
