a second hand gaming pc would be a better yet. work on your macbook and ssh to the pc for training. 24/7 gpu usage does use energy. whether or not it is a lot depends on your current energy usage.

the good new is, for the 95% of projects that can tolerate it, aws the good parts are actually both simple and easy[1]. it’s hard to find things you can’t build on s3, dynamo, lambda, and ec2. if either compliance or a 5% project demand it,

opensnitch is the most popular. you can also roll your own. on my github is tinysnitch (nfq based, no pid info) and mighty-snitch (lsm based, with pid info). picosnitch is also very cool, though slightly different.

incentives drive behavior. ask chatgpt how to maximize your income and minimize arduous work while employed at a large tech company. it would suggest this and similar behavior. perhaps soon we’ll see new incentives and behaviors emerging in

for a recent prototype i moved on from godot 4 to wickedengine. i really liked godot 4, but the new physics engine is a bit green, and it’s easier to write cpp with wicked than with godot native. wicked engine is very good.
